What are Driver and Conductor Numbers?

In Indian numerology the Driver Number (Mulank, also called the birth number or psychic number) is the single digit you get from the day of the month you were born. The Conductor Number (Bhagyank, also called the destiny number in this tradition) is the single digit you get from your complete date of birth.

Numerologists read the Driver Number as describing how a person is seen and behaves day to day, and the Conductor Number as describing the broader direction of life. These are traditional interpretations for personal reflection, not predictions or facts.

How the numbers are calculated

1. Driver Number: take the day of birth. If it has two digits, add them; repeat until one digit remains. (Day 1–9 is used as it is.)
2. Conductor Number: write the date as day, month, and full year, add every digit, then keep adding the digits of the total until one digit remains.
3. Neither number keeps 11, 22, or 33. Both always end as a single digit from 1 to 9.

Worked example: 25 August 1994

Driver Number: the birth day is 25, so 2 + 5 = 7.

Conductor Number: the digits of 25-8-1994 are 2, 5, 8, 1, 9, 9, 4. Their sum is 38, then 3 + 8 = 11, then 1 + 1 = 2.
