What is Shubh Vivah Muhurat?
In Hindu tradition, a wedding is ideally held on a date and at a time considered astrologically favourable, called a muhurat. This is worked out from the Panchang, the traditional Vedic almanac, which tracks the tithi (lunar day), nakshatra (lunar mansion), and several other factors for each date.
The dates listed here are not calculated by this website. They are selected by our astrologer, the same way a family astrologer would be asked to pick a wedding date.
Why some months have no dates
Certain periods in the Hindu calendar, such as Chaturmas, or a month with no favourable tithi/nakshatra combination at all, are traditionally avoided for weddings entirely. An empty month in the list above isn't a gap in our data; it reflects that no date in that month is considered auspicious.
Frequently asked questions
How are these dates chosen?
Each date is picked by our astrologer using the traditional Hindu Panchang (tithi, nakshatra, and other Vedic factors). These dates are not calculated by this website.
Do you cover every month?
No. Many months in the Hindu calendar have no auspicious wedding dates at all (for example during Chaturmas), so some months in the list are genuinely empty.
Is a time given for each date, or just the date?
A muhurat timing is shown when our astrologer has specified one. When it isn't shown, only the date itself is considered auspicious.
