How the Life Path Number is calculated
- Write your date of birth as day, month, and full year.
- Add every digit together.
- If the total has more than one digit, add its digits again. Stop when you reach a single digit, or when the total is 11, 22, or 33.
This differs from the Conductor Number, which always continues down to a single digit.
Worked example: 25 August 1994
The digits are 2, 5, 8, 1, 9, 9, 4. Their sum is 38, and 3 + 8 = 11. Because 11 is a master number, the calculation stops there: the Life Path Number is 11.
The Conductor Number for the same date carries on: 1 + 1 = 2.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my Life Path Number 11, 22, or 33?
In this method 11, 22, and 33 are master numbers and are not reduced further. If adding the digits of your birth date reaches one of them, that is your result.
Is the Life Path Number the same as the Driver or Conductor Number?
No. The Driver Number uses only your birth day. The Conductor Number uses the whole date like the Life Path Number does, but always reduces to a single digit, so it differs from the Life Path Number whenever a master number appears.
Do other numerology systems calculate it differently?
Yes. Some systems reduce the day, month, and year separately before adding them. This calculator adds every digit of the full date first. The method is stated here so you can compare it with any other source.
